Spring has Sprung
With spring quickly approaching, I hope, I think we are all ready for some outdoor time. With all of the recent wet weather we have experienced, it’s been hard to get out and enjoy nature.
I wanted to take this opportunity to ask, when is the last time you went to Cherokee Park to feed the fish at the dock? Have you taken your kids to Panther Creek state park to try disc golf and actually see what animals look like when they aren’t on a YouTube video? Have you gone for a walk for some peace and quiet at Fred Miller Park?
Our community is full of fun and recreation if you are willing to explore a little. If you haven’t been in Panther Creek Park lately, come by the Chamber and grab a nice map. You would be sur-prised at the number of trails simple enough for a beginner but challenging and long enough for the experienced hiker. If outdoor hiking isn’t your thing, feel free to hike downtown or at the mall and leave some sales tax dollars to support our education system.
If you’re not up for a true “hike” you can participate in the Healthy Hamblen/Moving Morris-town “Monday Mile”. Listed below is a schedule of where the Monday Mile Walks will be held. Bring a friend or come make a friend.
Admit it, you and your family are pale from a long winter and some sun and exercise would do us all some good!
