Shop Local for Christmas!
As we get close to Christmas, there is still plenty of time for shopping and by shopping, I mean locally. It is easy and convenient to shop online, but I’ve yet to see Amazon sponsor a Morristown youth team or attend an event or even exist in our community other than by taking from our citizens. I would encourage you to support those local businesses that support your business and your family year round.
Shopping locally also allows your local option sales tax to be pushed back into our school system, and our education system is the building block for all of our community’s past, current and future success. Morristown is blessed to have many more commercial and retail establishments than many of our neighbors and appreciate the regional support we receive.
A word of caution though, about a week ago, a close family member went shopping in a close county of ours. They are known to have many great shops supporting the tourist trade. That family member seems to still be in traffic working their way back to the interstate and are hopeful to make it back in time for Christmas. In all seriousness though, shop local, enjoy your time this Christmas season with friends and family and be ready for another year of positive growth for Morristown and Hamblen County in 2023!
