“Thoughts on Snow Days”
With young kids comes the cry for snow this time of year, and wow, did we just get a taste of it! I
want to truly say how thankful we are to our city and county workers who worked non stop, nights and weekends to try to keep our community open and running. Living in the south where snow is a rarity, that is no easy task with the tools on hand, but they have done a wonderful job! If you see these guys out and about, please say thanks and I know they would never turn down a free meal!
One role that is also likely the most difficult during these events is our Director of Schools. You have a yes or no decision that is sure to upset someone because “where I’m from” and “I can’t believe” is easy to say, but when thousands of students and employees safety is in your hands, you want to make the correct decision. I won’t go into Director Bunch’s background, but I think you would be hard pressed to find a more qualified individual at the local level to make a call like this.
And just to think, just a couple years ago you all were asking why we had so many car washes…..try to get through one next week and you will quickly see why. That is one thing for sure about the business community, without business users and the right community there will be no
business. We look forward to warmer days ahead, but you know our weather, 60 degrees next week then snow in April….
