From the President’s Desk (June)

presidents deskAs summer begins and your vacations begin, remember all of the activities available locally. Did you know that at visitmorristowntn.com, there is an extensive event calendar to tell you about events going on in the community? You can also submit events for approval there as well.

You would be hard pressed to find a day that something fun isn’t going on in our community. Our city and county have made great investments in our local parks, so if a formal activity isn’t your thing, call the chamber for a disc golf lesson! If being active isn’t your thing, most of our parks have benches where you can watch other people be active. If the outside isn’t your thing, check the tourism calendar for many inside activities as well. These events are also posted at the Chamber and Tourism’s Facebook page.

While we understand that everything you want to do this summer isn’t available in Hamblen County, make it a point to go outside your comfort zone and try 1 new thing this summer. Mountain biking at Panther Creek, disc golf at Cherokee Park, take in a musical theatre performance, take an art class or relive your childhood and swing at Fred Miller Park. Explore the things our community has to offer, because greedily, our best sales force for our community is our members and we want each of you to know and enjoy what is going on in our community!
