“Spring is on the Horizon”Unless we are the recipient of another cruel winter joke, Spring is on the horizon which means our Farmers Market and Downtown Green will be ramping up soon! The farmers market will sell out of spaces again and we remind everyone that regional farmers and crafters are what we consider “farmers market vendors.” We have other facilities in town for selling that unused exercise equipment after your last new years resolution.
Many of our weekends on the green are booked by vendor markets and if you are interested in these, Natasha can provide you with the contact of the individuals renting the space who may have vendor spots available. It is also very important to remember that early in the year, crops aren’t ready for harvest so your watermelon and corn cravings may have to wait a few months as this inventory is certainly seasonal. It is amazing for me to see on Facebook “I went down to the farmers market and couldn’t find any pineapple…” These quotes are the source of great humor in our office and we appreciate it, but trust us, if you don’t know when and where it is grown, don’t trust it on your plate.
Another exciting Chamber event series we are excited to see return is our First Friday Concert Series. This will ramp up in May and run through October on the FIRST FRIDAY of every month. Like always, it is free to attend and we will have food trucks, beer and a Night Market with vendors under the Farmers Market pavillion. Sponsorships have almost sold out before it was advertised but we do have 1 left for an interested business.
